Okay, technically Day 2 – but day 1 was just full of flights and wine so I’m not counting that (although it was fun).
We spent our first night at a sketchy hotel within walking distance of the Vegas strip. I’ve stayed in some weird places but this may have taken the spot of the weirdest place I’ve ever stayed. At the very least it gave me a whole new perspective of vegas white trash. I was really skeptical of getting bed bugs or our car broken into but I’m happy to report that we lived through the night accident free!!! Speaking of cars, we arrived to enterprise late and they gave us a free upgrade. We’re currently roaming around Utah in an adorable little fiat!!
We spent the early morning walking around Vegas and people watching which was highly entertaining but also made me question humanity slightly.
After a few hours we were pretty excited to get out of the city and start exploring Southern Utah.
The drive to Page, AZ was about 4.5 hours but totally worth it once we got to the Horseshoe Bend. I’ve seen this place on instagram so many times and was nervous that it was one of those places that was made look cool in pictures but was disappointing in real life. That was definitely NOT the case. The Horseshoe Bend was one of those places that reminding you how small you and all your problems are. Not to mention it sent a chill through my spine looking over the 1,000 ft drop to the canyon floor.
After sitting and enjoying the views we turned around and drove another 1.5 hours to Kanab, UT where we’ll be staying the next two nights. This airbnb to our very happy surprise is a million times better than our questionable Vegas motel. It’s a clean and cozy dorm style airbnb with a shared kitchen and common area – best part is the sheets look clean and washed. All a girl can ask for, am I right?
